The entire route for the 50km Ultra Trail and the Trail Half Marathon races follow the waymarked Wealdway heading north on the way out, and the waymarked Vanguard Way heading south on the return journey to the finish at Chiddingly. The race routes are approximately 75% (trail half marathon ) - 85% (50km ultra trail) off-road.īoth races start and finish in the village of Chiddingly and encompass the surrounding beauty of the Sussex countryside en route.Ĭhiddingly Primary School, Muddles Green, East Sussex, BN8 6HN. The 50km ultra trail route heads north along the Wealdway, all the way into the spectacular Ashdown Forest to the third meeting point within the Ashdown Forest, then returns south along the Vanguard Way back to Chiddingly. The half marathon route heads north along the Wealdway to the meeting point at Blackboys, then returns south along the Vanguard Way back to Chiddingly. The start for both races is at Chiddingly. The Weald Challenge Trail Races therefore take advantage of these three meeting points, resulting in the perfect distances for the 50km Ultra Trail and the Trail Half Marathon.
